Leveraging software to manage agricultural equipment allows you to proactively manage maintenance and maximize equipment lifespan.
I like seeing blog that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free.
Farm equipment maintenance management is critical to ensuring uptime and keeping up with agriculture demand. Leveraging software to manage agricultural equipment allows you to proactively manage maintenance and maximize equipment lifespan.
The log should allow for different types of schedules.
Periodic service (weekly, monthly) etc. with calendar reminder
Running hours from hour meter entered by reminder (ATV's etc)
Inventory log of service items
oil, spark plugs etc
Pre-season preventative maintenance schedule
I would think with a whole farm perspective Agriweb aught to be able to come up
With a machinery component that works and can track cost and usage off all farm machinery from a quad bike to a header. Many of these machines are integral to a livestock operation
A machinery inventory and service log is a fantastic idea. I was looking for other seperate apps to be able to do this last year but was unsucessful in finding something suitable. John, whilst your way sounds like it is working well for you, I need something that is simple and intuitive to be able to get other staff on board with it.
It's not perfect but is functional
I am currently doing this using paddocks as machines and the fertilizer inventory for my diesel. When you fill a machine you put the L used against that paddock as fert, this allows you to keep a live diesel inventory and report on how much diesel a machine uses. For maintenance I use the task manager. When a job is due to be done I create a task and allocate it to the paddock (machine). When job is done I write a description in the task and tick completed. Now I have a reportable system for machinery maintenance and fuel inventory. More than happy to show you how if you keen. email@example.com
